On or about Sunday, May 15th, 2022, around 9:32 in the morning, a serious two-vehicle tractor-trailer accident left a 41-year-old Missouri man dead. Troopers from the NMSP said the accident was reported along Highway 54 in Quay County, New Mexico.
Representatives from the New Mexico State Police said 41-year-old Roger Craghead was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving and another 18-wheeler collided head-on when one of them allegedly crossed over the center line of Highway 54. Emergency responders pronounced Craghead dead of his injuries at the scene of the incident. Paramedics transported the driver of the other tractor-trailer to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from Nara Vista.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
