On or about Monday, February 8th, 2021, around 10:10 at night, an accident between a pickup truck and a box truck sent three people to the hospital. Investigators said the accident happened on Route 50 near Old Route 50 in Clay County, Illinois.
Police officers said an eastbound box truck driven by 34-year-old Romano Ruslan allegedly crossed over the center line and struck a westbound pickup truck driven by 48-year-old Robert Hale. Hale and a passenger in his vehicle, 18-year-old Alex Carrell were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Ruslan was also injured.
Clay County is situated about 110 miles west of St. Louis, Missouri.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
