On or about Friday, October 23rd, 2020, around 8:50 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a Nissan Sentra left a 60-year-old Texarkana resident dead. Officers indicated the accident happened on Highway 71 in Y City, Arkansas.
Troopers from the ASP, have said 60-year-old Ronnie L. Harley was killed when the Nissan Sentra he was driving allegedly crossed from the northbound lanes and collided with a southbound tractor-trailer. Harley died a short time after the collision. The truck driver did not report injuries.
Looking at Highway 71 on Google Maps shows a two lane roadway that runs north and south through rural Scott County. Y City is located about 62 miles south of Fort Smith.
State and local law enforcement are assisting in the investigation.
