On or about Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021, around 7:20 in the morning, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer sent a 29-year-old woman to the hospital. Troopers from the NSP said the accident was reported along Highway 30 near the intersection with County Road 4 just outside North Bend in Dodge County, Nebraska.
Dodge County Sheriff’s Department officials said 29-year-old Roxana Vargas was injured when her car and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances. Paramedics airlifted Vargas to Nebraska Medicine Hospital in Omaha where she was last reported in critical condition by medical staff. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Richard Olnes, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 30 runs east and west along the southern edge of North Bend, which is about 60 miles northeast of Omaha.
Multiple agencies responded to the accident to assist at the scene.
