Details:
On or about Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, around 9:00 at night, a serious two-vehicle car accident left a man and a woman dead. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 83/84 in Abilene, Texas.
Law enforcement spokespeople from the Texas DPS said 35-year-old Roxanne Rivero Medina and 96-year-old James Henry Wheeler were killed when Wheeler’s vehicle allegedly struck Medina’s SUV head-on while driving the wrong direction on Highway 83/84. Emergency responders pronounced Medina and Wheeler dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from the intersection with Kirby Lake.
Police are still investigating.
