On or about Saturday, September 4th, 2021, around 8:30 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left a 40-year-old California man dead. Investigators from the NSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 80 in Churchill County, Nevada.
Troopers from the Nevada State Police said 40-year-old Sae Kim was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer after he exited his vehicle following a previous accident. Emergency responders pronounced Kim dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the incident. Police did not mention any other injuries in their report on the incident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 80 runs east and west through Churchill County, with the scene of the accident situated between Fernley and Lovelock.
