Details:
On or about Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, around 3:50 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 61-year-old man. Troopers from the SCHP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 20 in Lexington County, South Carolina.
Investigators said 61-year-old Sahib Singh Cheema was killed when the car he was driving allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer on the side of I-20. Emergency responders pronounced Cheema dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries in their initial statement on the crash.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 20 runs east and west through Lexington County, which is a short distance east of downtown Columbia.
Police are still investigating.
