On or about Friday, June 25th, 2021, around 7:20 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a cyclist claimed the life of a 61-year-old man. Officials said the accident was reported at the intersection of South Higuera Street and Suburban Road in San Luis Obispo, California.
Troopers from the California Highway Patrol said 61-year-old Salvador Cortez was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer while he was riding his bike at the intersection of South Higuera Street and Suburban Road. Emergency responders pronounced Cortez dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of South Higuera Street and Suburban Road is located on the south side of San Luis Obispo, which is about 189 miles north of Los Angeles.
