On or about Thursday, August 19th, 2021, around 7:30 in the morning an accident between a tractor-trailer and a construction truck left two men injured. Investigators from the Illinois State Police said the accident was reported at a construction zone on Interstate 72 just outside Pittsfield, Illinois.

Police said 36-year-old Sam Williams was injured when a tractor-trailer driven by 56-year-old Kyle Dietz allegedly crashed into a construction zone just off the side of Interstate 72. Williams and Ditez both sustained unspecified injuries in the accident, but were not taken to the hospital.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 72 runs east and west just north of the the Pittsfield area, which is about 270 miles south of Chicago.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene of the incident.
