On or about Sunday, November 14th, 2021, around 7:00 in the evening, an accident between a flatbed tractor-trailer and an SUV left a 22-year-old Boise man dead. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Highway 95 just outside New Meadows in Adams County, Idaho.

Law enforcement spokespeople said 22-year-old Samson Matthews was killed when the Mazda5 SUV he was driving and a flatbed tractor-trailer collided under unspecified conditions while driving down Highway 95. Matthews was ejected from the vehicle in the crash and was pronounced dead of his injuries when emergency responders arrived at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries after the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance north of New Meadows, which is roughly 118 miles north of Boise.

Police are still looking into the accident.
