Details:
On or about Saturday, November 20th, 2021, a head-on collision between two pickup trucks left a 70-year-old man and a 50-year-old man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 20 in Abilene, Texas.
Police said 70-year-old Samuel D. Caldwell and Darrel V. Mills were killed when Caldwell’s Toyota Tundra allegedly struck Mills’ Ford F-150 while driving the wrong direction on Interstate 20. Emergency responders pronounced Caldwell and Mills dead of their injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 20 runs east and west through Abilene, which is about 163 miles southeast of Lubbock.
Authorities are still trying to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
