Details:
On or about Sunday, June 27th, 2021, around 2:47 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV sent a woman and three children to the hospital. Authorities said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 70 in Cumberland County, Illinois.
Troopers from the Illinois State Police said 38-year-old Sarah Bequette and the three children in her SUV were injured when a tractor-trailer driven by Clay Schuette allegedly slammed into the back of the vehicle. Paramedics transported Bequette and the three juveniles to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident.
Police have since cited Schuette with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident in connection with the crash.
