Sarah Pender was seriously injured after two tires came off a semi-truck and struck her vehicle on Interstate 80 around mile marker 287, near Walcott, IA. Iowa State Patrol reports the accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025. The tires impacted Pender’s vehicle with enough force to send it airborne, then roll several times before landing upside-down in the center median. The driver of the semi-truck failed to stop, and authorities are actively searching for a semi-truck pulling a trailer with two missing tires.
