On or about Monday, September 20th, 2021, around 7:15 in the morning, an accident between a log truck, a pickup truck, and two cars left a 25-year-old woman dead. Troopers from the OSP said the accident was reported along Highway 126 just outside Walton in Lane County, Oregon.

Oregon State Police said 25-year-old Sarah Susman was killed when a log truck driven by 64-year-old Shane McVay allegedly lost control and rolled onto Susman’s Toyota Prius before it struck a pickup truck towing a boat, which subsequently collided with a Ford Mustang. Susman was pronounced dead a short time after the accident, while McVay was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities are currently working to determine if McVay was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Multiple agencies are examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
