Details:
On or about Thursday, April 22nd, 2021, around 4:30 in the afternoon, a major accident between a pickup truck and a falling crane left two people dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident happened along the westbound side of Interstate 10 just outside Beaumont, Texas.
Authorities said 37-year-old Sarfaraz Kasowadia and 42-year-old Altaf Kasowadia were killed when the boom of a crane allegedly fell onto the pickup truck they were in as they were driving westbound on Interstate 10. Paramedics pronounced both Sarfaraz and Altaf dead of their injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the accident happened a short distance west of Beaumont, which is about 84 miles northeast of downtown Houston.
Multiple agencies are investigating the accident.
