On or about Friday, October 8th, 2021, around 9:24 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left a 36-year-old Edgar man dead. Law enforcement spokespeople from the area said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 13 and Apple Avenue in Taylor County, Wisconsin.
Officials said 36-year-old Scott Soczka was killed when the pickup truck he was driving was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while he was turning from Highway 13 to Apple Avenue. Paramedics pronounced Soczka dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries or vehicles in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Medford, which is about 77 miles northeast of Eau Claire.
Police are still investigating.
