A semi-truck driver was seriously injured after colliding with a hay bale which had fallen from a trailer on Highway 93 in Trempealeau County, WI. Deputies from the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office say the accident took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

A truck was pulling a trailer with hay bales on it when one fell off due to high winds. The semi was struck by the bale, causing it to jackknife and block both lanes. The driver was airlifted to a nearby trauma center with serious injuries, however the dog riding with them was uninjured. Authorities cited the driver of the truck for failure to secure his load.
