On or about Friday, October 1st, 2021, around 7:30 in the morning, a single-vehicle prison bus accident sent several people to the hospital. Authorities from the DPS said the accident was reported along Highway 281 just outside George West in Live Oak County, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said several people were injured when a prison bus allegedly lost control and rolled along Highway 281. Officials said the prison bus was transported around 40 inmates, and an unknown number of them sustained unspecified injuries in the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 3 miles outside of George West, which is about 84 miles south of San Antonio.
