Details:
On or about Monday, November 15th, 2021, around 5:03 in the afternoon, an accident between a box truck and a transit van left one person dead and sent one other individual to the hospital. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported along Route 303 at or near the exchange with East Erie Street in Blauvelt, New York.
Police officers said 83-year-old Seymour Whitman was killed when a box truck allegedly collided with the Subaru Forrester he was driving. Paramedics rushed Whitman and his as-of-yet unidentified passenger to a nearby hospital where Whitman succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, Blauvelt is about 28 miles north of New York City.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
