On or about Tuesday, December 7th, 2021, around 6:35 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer, a passener vehicle and possibly a third unknown vehicle left a 27-year-old man dead. Representatives from the VSP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 85 in Brunswick, Virginia.
Spokespeople from the Virginia State Police said 27-year-old Shameek Price was killed when the vehicle he was driving and a tractor-trailer allegedly collided under unspecified circumstances on northbound I-85. After the initial accident, Price may have been struck by another vehicle. Neither the tractor-trailer nor the other possible vehicle stayed at the scene of the accident. Paramedics pronounced Price a short time after they arrived after the incident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 85 cuts north and south through the center of Brunswick, which is about 69 miles south of downtown Richmond.
State and local authorities assisted after the accident.
