On or about Saturday, September 18th, 2021, around 11:46 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 44-year-old Memphis man. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported in along westbound Interstate 30 in Alexander, Arkansas.

Officials from the Arkansas State Police said 44-year-old Shandus Gamble was killed when he allegedly grabbed the side of a passing tractor-trailer and was subsequently struck by one of the truck’s rear tires. Paramedics rushed Gamble to UAMS Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday, September 20th, 2021. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their report.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 30 cuts east and west through Alexander, which is roughly 16 miles southwest of downtown Little Rock.

State and local law enforcement assisted at the scene of the incident.
