On or about Friday, July 1st, 2022, a serious accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian in a wheelchair left a 58-year-old woman dead. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported along Highway 128 in Shelbyville, Illinois.
Representatives from the Illinois State Police said 58-year-old Shannon Watkins was killed when she was allegedly hit by a turning tractor-trailer along Highway 128. Emergency responders rushed Watkins to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Michael Snow, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is at the intersection with Main Street.
Police are still investigating the factors that may have played a role in the accident.
