On or about Sunday, October 17th, 2021, around 2:50 in the afternoon, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer rollover accident left one woman dead and sent a man to the hospital. Deputies from the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along State Highway 38 in Hughes, Arkansas.

Troopers from the Arkansas State Police said 69-year-old Sharon Like was killed and 55-year-old Robert Austill was injured when the tractor-trailer they were in allegedly veered off the side of Highway 38 and rolled after it collided with a brick structure a short distance off the pavement. Police identified Like as the passenger in the tractor-trailer, who died of her injuries a short time after the accident. Austill was transported to Regional One Health Medical Center with unspecified injuries after the accidnet.

According to Google Maps, the town of Hughes is about 117 miles east of downtown Little Rock.
