Details:
On or about Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, sometime in the early morning hours, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a crash attenuator truck left one individual dead. Local law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported along Interstate 81 in Weyers Cave, Virginia.
Investigators said Shawn Dick was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into the back of the crash attenuator truck he was in, protecting work crews in a construction zone. Emergency responders pronounced Dick dead of his injuries a short time after the collision.
Authorities have indicated charges are pending in connection with the crash.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 81 runs north and south along the western edge of Weyers Cave.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
