On or about Tuesday, April 13th, 2021, around 7:55 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left a 57-year-old man dead. Police said the accident was reported at the intersection of East 19th Street and Canyon Lake Drive in Lubbock, Texas.
Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said 57-year-old Shelby Mann was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck his vehicle while he was making a turn. Paramedics rushed Mann to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the day after his arrival. Police did not mention any other injuries in their initial statement.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of East 19th Street and Canyon Lake Drive is just east of downtown Lubbock.
Police expect to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
