Details:
On or about Saturday, June 12th, 2021, around 2:00 in the morning, an accident between a car and two tractor-trailers left two people dead. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported in the 700 block of Interstate 12 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Investigators said 26-year-old Sherdan Williams and 24-year-old Ivie Efferson were killed when the car they were in was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer. The force of the impact pushed their car into the back of a tractor-trailer that had stopped or slowed in traffic. Paramedics pronounced Efferson and Williams dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated between the exits for Millerville Road and South Sherwood Forest Boulevard.
Police are still working to pin down what may have contributed to the accident.
