Details:
On or about Sunday, May 15th, 2022, around 4:20 in the afternoon, a major accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left a 36-year-old man dead. Representatives from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along East Anderson Lane in Austin, Texas.
Authorities from the Austin Police Department said 36-year-old Simon Juan Velez was killed when he was allegedly hit by a passing motorist while he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross East Anderson Ln. Emergency responders pronounced Velez dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. It is not presently clear if the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene or fled.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the northeast side of Austin.
Police are still investigating the accident.
