On or about Wednesday, February 24th, 2021, around 10:30 at night, an accident between a car and a parked 18-wheeler left a 45-year-old man dead. Officials said the accident happened on the northbound side of Interstate 75 in Marietta, Georgia.

Troopers from the GSP said 45-year-old Sparticus Heyward was killed when his car allegedly collided with the back of a parked tractor-trailer in a gore area on the side of Interstate 75. Paramedics rushed Heyward to nearby Wellstar Kennestone where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. No other injuries were reported.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 75 runs north and south through the center of Marietta, which is situated about 20 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.

Officials are still investigating the accident.
