On or about Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, around 8:30 in the morning, an accident between a truck towing a trailer, an NDOT vehicle and a state police cruiser sent a trooper to the hospital. Authorities said the accident happened on Interstate 80 near Chappell in Deuel County, Nebraska.
Investigators said a truck towing a trailer allegedly slammed into a NDOT vehicle at the scene of a previous accident. After the initial collision, the NDOT vehicle was pushed into a nearby state police cruiser. Paramedics transported the trooper to a Colorado hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident.
Chappell is located in the southwest corner of Nebraska near the Colorado state line, according to Google Maps. Interstate 80 runs east and west just south of town.
