On or about Thursday, December 9th, 2021, around 3:30 in the morning, a head-on collision between two passenger vehicles left one woman dead and sent another individual to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 10 just outside Clint in El Paso County, Texas.
Officers said Stephanie Montoya was killed when the car she was allegedly driving the wrong direction on Interstate 10 slammed head-on into another vehicle. Montoya was pronounced dead of her injuries at the scene of the collision, while the driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 27 miles southeast of downtown El Paso.
