On or about Tuesday, July 6th, 2021, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 29-year-old woman. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 79 near Gause, Texas.
Texas DPS Troopers said 29-year-old Stephanie Louisa Torres-Herrera was killed when she was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer that drifted onto the shoulder of the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced Torres-Herrera dead of her injuries a short time after the accident. Two other people suffered unspecified injuries in the incident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 79 runs east and west through Milam County, with the scene of the accident situated not far from the Gause city limits.
Police are still investigating the accident.
