On or about Wednesday, February 16th, 2022, around 9:20 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left a 71-year-old man dead. Authorities from the ISP said the accident was reported along Interstate 80 just outside Durant in Cedar County, Iowa.
Law enforcement representatives from the Iowa State Police said 71-year-old Steven Michael Dolezal was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly crossed over the center line of I-80 and struck Dolezal’s pickup truck in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders pronounced Dolezal dead, while his passenger and the tractor-trailer driver were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance west of Durant.
