Details:
On or about February 15th, 2022, around 8:00 at night, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left one woman dead. Authorities from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Highway 6 in San Antonio, Texas.
Officers from the San Antonio Police Department said Susan Herke was killed when she was allegedly struck by a pickup truck as she was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Highway 6. After the initial accident, the pickup truck fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced Herke dead of her injuries a short time after the accident.
Authorities later arrested Edward Turner in connection with the accident. Officials said Turner returned to the scene a short time after the initial accident.
Authorities are still investigating.
