On or about Friday, November 12th, 2021, a major accident between a motorcycle and a garbage truck claimed the life of a 20-year-old Clarksville man. Police officers from the area said the accident was reported along the Nolensville Pike near the intersection with Higgins Street in Nashville, Tennessee.

Authorities said 20-year-old Taylor Sherwood was killed when the motorcycle he was driving was allegedly struck by a garbage truck that turned into his path along the Nolensville Pike. Emergency responders rushed Sherwood to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Officials did not mention any other injuries in their statement on the accident.

Police indicated they believe the garbage truck failed to yield in the moments before the collision.

According to Google Maps, the intersection of the Nolensville Pike and Higgins Street is on the south side of Nashville.

Metro police assisted after the incident.
