Details:
On or about Tuesday, October 12th, 2021, around 8:27 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left a 16-year-old girl dead. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported along Highway 175 just outside Auburn in Sac County, Iowa.
Police said an as-of-yet unidentified 16-year-old girl was killed when the SUV she was driving allegedly veered over the center line of Highway 175 when it collided with a tractor-trailer. Paramedics pronounced the 16-year-old girl dead of her injuries a short time after the accident, but police did not specify if she died at the scene or if she succumbed to her injuries a after being taken to a nearby hospital.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance east of Auburn, which is about 104 miles northwest of Des Moines.
Police are still investigating.
