On or about Sunday, January 2nd, 2022, around 6:30 in the evening, a hit-and-run accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer sent a 14-year-old girl to the hospital. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported in the 1000 block of Rettew Mill Road in Ephrata, Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement spokespeople said an as-of-yet unidentified 14-year-old girl was injured when the car she was in was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer as both vehicles were navigating a curve in the road on Rettew Mill Road. Paramedics transported 14-year-old passenger in the car to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity stemming from the accident. The tractor-trailer fled the scene of the collision, and police are still working to track down the truck and driver.

According to Google Maps, the town of Ephrata is about 67 miles west of downtown Philadelphia.
