On or about Friday, October 15th, 2021, around 6:48 in the morning, a serious single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident claimed the life of a 49-year-old Morrilton man. Troopers from the ASP said the accident occurred along Highway 287 in Conway County, Arkansas.

Investigators from the Arkansas State Police said 48-year-old Thomas Dee Johannes was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving allegedly veered off the side of Highway 287 and rolled a short distance of the pavement. Paramedics pronounced Johannes dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, Highway 287 runs east and west through Conway County, which is about 61 miles north of downtown Little Rock.

Police are still investigating.
