On or about Monday, June 28th, 2021, around 5:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car claimed the lives of a man and woman from Brookings, Oregon. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 40 in Ozark, Arkansas.

Officials from the Arkansas State Police said 82-year-old Thomas Buie and 82-year-old Kelen Buie were killed when their car was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer as they may have been pulling onto eastbound Interstate 40 from the shoulder. Both Helen and Thomas Buie were pronounced dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident. Deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 40 runs east and west through Ozark, which is about 123 miles northwest of Little Rock.
