On or around Friday, October 2nd, 2020, around 2:05 in the afternoon, 27-year-old Quincy, Illinois resident Thomas Hurt was killed when a John Deer combine allegedly struck his box truck head-on while driving north of Arbela, Missouri.
Sources from the area have indicated that Hurt was killed when the 2013 Ford box truck he was driving on County Road 759 was allegedly struck by a 2010 John Deere combine head-on. Hurt’s box truck erupted into flames following the accident.
Police did not specify the placement of the vehicles in the road when the collision occurred, was one over the dividing line? Did one of the drivers cross over, or was just a portion of a vehicle in the oncoming lanes?
