On or about Thursday, July 1st, 2021, around 4:11 in the morning, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer left a 76-year-old man dead. Troopers from the NCHP said the accident was reported along the eastbound lanes of Highway 75 in Lumberton, North Carolina.
Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said 76-year-old Thomas Lynn Tschetter was killed when his car was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer from behind on Highway 74. Emergency responders pronounced Tschetter dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 74 runs east and west along the southern edge of Lumberton, which is about 126 miles southeast of downtown Charlotte.
State and local law enforcement agencies assisted at the scene of the accident.
