Details:
On or about Tuesday, October 20th, 2020, at or around 12:10 in the afternoon, an accident between a car, a pickup towing a trailer, and a box truck send two people to the hospital. Police said the accident happened near 160 South Main in Newtown, Connecticut.
Authorities said that two people were injured when a Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer in the northbound lanes allegedly struck the back of a northbound Ford Fusion that had stopped or slowed to make a turn into a private driveway. After the collision with the Ford, the Silverado veered into the southbound lanes where it struck a box truck head-on.
Both the driver of the box truck and the Silverado were transported from the scene to be treated for unspecified injuries. Paramedics treated the driver of the Ford at the scene.
Looking at the scene of the accident on Google Maps shows that South Main Street (Highway 160) is two lanes that run north and south through the center of Newtown. Newtown is located about 11 miles east of Danbury.
Officials are still examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
