On or about Wednesday, May 12th, 2021, around 2:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a boom truck and three other cars sent three people to the hospital. Troopers from the UHP said the accident happened along the southbound side of Interstate 15 just outside New Harmony, Utah.
Police said three as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when a boom truck allegedly lost control after a tire blowout, causing a chain reaction accident with a Subaru, a Chevrolet Malibu, and a Honda Civic. Paramedics transported three individuals from the scene to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries after the accident.
Authorities closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 for several hours in order to tend to the scene.
Police are still investigating.
