On or about Thursday, December 17th, 2021, around 3:30 in the afternoon, a major accident between a van and a metro bus sent three individuals to the hospital. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of West 20th Street and Durham Drive in Houston, Texas.

Authorities said three as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when a van allegedly ran a red light at West 20th and Durham when it struck a Metro bus. After the initial collision, the bus travelled off the roadway where it came to rest after a collision with a building a short distance off the pavement. Paramedics transported the driver of the bus and two passengers to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.

According to Google Maps, the intersection of West 20th Street and Durham Drive is situated on the northwest side of Houston.

Officials are still investigating the accident.
