On or about Thursday, October 8th, 2020, around 4:45 in the afternoon, a collision between a tractor-trailer and a car sent three people to the hospital. The accident happened in the eastbound lanes of the Indiana Toll Road near mile marker 97 just east of Elkhart, Indiana.

Officers have said that three individuals were injured when the car they were in struck the rear of a tractor-trailer that allegedly changed lanes to move around traffic.

Paramedics transported three people from the car to a nearby hospital with various injuries. At least one victim was taken by helicopter.

Highway Patrol closed both lanes of traffic to tend to the scene and clear a landing for careflight.

The investigation into the crash is still underway.
