Details:
On or about Saturday, June 12th, 2021, around 5:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a UPS box truck and two SUVs sent three people to the hospital. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of State Route 201 and 12000 West in West Valley City, Utah.
Authorities indicated three as-of-yet unidentified people were injured when a UPS box truck allegedly crossed over the center line of Route 102 and struck a Ford Explorer and a Dodge SUV. Two people in the Explorer were airlifted to the hospital, while one person in the Dodge was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident. Police did not elaborate on what may have caused the truck to cross over the dividing line of the roadway.
According to Google Maps, West Valley City is a short distance southeast of downtown Salt Lake City.
Police are still investigating the accident.
