On or about Monday, January 3rd, 2021, around 6:45 in the evening, an accident between a snowplow truck and an SUV claimed the lives of two women and a man, and sent another man to the hospital. Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported on the Columbia Pike at or near the intersection with Briggs Chaney Road in Fairland, Maryland.

Officers from the area said three as-of-yet unidentified individuals were killed and a fourth person was seriously injured when the SUV they were in and a snowplow truck collided under unspecified circumstances on Columbia Pike at Briggs Chaney Road. Emergency responders pronounced two women and a man dead of their injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the collision. A fourth occupant was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries stemming from the collision.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 14 miles north of downtown Washington D.C.

Authorities are still investigating the accident.
