On or about Thursday, June 24th, 2021, around 9:15 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left three individuals dead. Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported on Highway 6 near mile marker 391 just outside De Leon in Comanche County, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas DPS said three as-of-yet unidentified people were killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly veered over the center line of Highway 6 and struck at least one car in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders pronounced three people dead of their injuries a short time after the collision. Authorities did not mention any other injuries in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 6 runs east and west along the northern edge of De Leon, which is about 134 miles southwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Police are still investigating the crash.
