On or about Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, around 4:15 in the afternoon, an accident between multiple cars and tractor-trailers claimed the lives of three people and sent several to the hospital. Authorities indicated the accident happened on the southbound side of Interstate 35 in La Salle County, Texas.
Texas Department of Public Safety said three people were killed and several others were injured when eleven vehicles, including multiple tractor-trailers, collided in a chain-reaction accident on I-35. Troopers from the DPS did not specify how the accident may have started, only that three people died of their injuries.
Interstate 35 is four lanes at the scene of the accident, with a wide, grassy median dividing north and southbound traffic according to Google Maps. La Salle County is situated about 107 miles southwest of San Antonio.
Texas DPS and local police are investigating.
