On or about Wednesday, August 18th, 2021, around 3:56 in the morning, a multi-vehicle accident with a tractor-trailer claimed the lives of three people. Troopers from the WSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 94 in Jefferson County, Wisconsin.
Police indicated three as-of-yet unidentified people were killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly crashed into a barrier, resulting in a collision with three other vehicles. A fourth vehicle struck the victims as after they exited their vehicles at the scene of the accident. All three victims succumbed to their injuries a short time after the incident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 94 cuts east and west through the northern portion of Jefferson County, which is situated between Milwaukee and Madison.
Officials are still working to pin down the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
