On or about Thursday, June 24th, 2021, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident claimed the life of a 60-year-old man. Deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department said the accident occurred on the westbound side of Highway 74 in Wesley, Arkansas.

Troopers from the Arkansas State Police said 60-year-old Timothy Sloan was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving allegedly veered out of the westbound lanes of Highway 74 when it rolled onto it’s roof a short distance off the pavement. Emergency response personnel pronounced Sloan dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the crash. No other vehicles were mentioned by police in their initial accident report.

According to Google Maps, Highway 74 runs east and west through the center of Wesley, which is situated roughly 15 miles east of Fayetteville.

State and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
